Training with the BSMDH Mets. & South

Training in Hypnosis is offered only to qualified Doctors and Dentists (including final year undergraduates), Clinical Psychologists and paramedical professions as approved by the Society.

The Metropolitan and South branch run two basic and one intermediate course each year. Advanced courses are run periodically.

BSMDH Metropolitan and South has its own accreditation procedure for members which is consistent with that recommended by the national body.

There are various requirements, these include training over a period of 3 years. During this time practical experience is gained with hypnosis in their practice in a field where they already have professional competence to advise and treat patients.

The training courses, workshops and meetings amount to some 14 whole days or more. A written presentation containing a set of case histories is followed by an interview with two assessors.

Accredited members are required to maintain a level of continuing education.
